More from San Miguel de Allende

Big celebration of the bicentenario tonight, with festivities cranking up in San Miguel de Allende. Today there were caballeros riding through the square, athletes from across Guanajuato state bearing torches, and giant puppets. Updates later, after the festivities get into high gear. As usual, click on the photos to see them larger.

Bicentennial noisemakers.

I shall call them "vivazelas."

Giant puppets of historical figures from Mexican independence.

David- your photos are fabulous! I loooove SMA & you really captured the spirit of that gorgeous little town! And how lucky you are to spend time with the wonderful Rife's!!! While there, you must pop in to El Gato Negro for a beer - old school cantina!

Crissy - El Gato Negro? I'm so there. Friday earliest - craziness planned for tonight, and a lot of places are closed tomorrow due to the holiday. To everyone, thank you for the kind words. It's a beautiful place to shoot, I have more stuff happening in front of my lens than I know what to do with. And speaking of heaven on earth, The Rifes! It's so wonderful to hang with them. Oops, more stuff is happening, gotta go. I'll post more photos later.

Poller-

Do NOT miss the fire-roasted chicken and salsa at the NE corner of Ancha de San Antonio and Nueva Paseo Del Parque.

To Die For.

And cheap!

Renay - thanks! And David - I'm so there. I shall purchase some of said chicken, and whatever I don't eat I'll roll around in so I smell like it and the dogs follow me around. YEAH.
