Hot, dry and full of art

I was in the high desert this weekend, near Twentynine Palms, shooting the work of dozens of artists from seven University of California campuses. The massive exhibition, Dry Immersion 3: Desert Projects, is based on students' immersion into the landscapes (and inhabitants) of the Southern California desert. For a much better idea of the scope, content and intent of the exhibition, catch Steven Biller's blog post here.
Elizabeth Chaney walks into the "Untitled: Bristol Salt Lake" installation.

Elcin Joyner's "The Orange Pataphors Nomadic Ziggurat."

Jared Stanley stands near "The Desert Die" in its pedestal as Matt Hebert gestures toward it.

The "UR Rituals" sound performance piece is set up.

Red sash attached to the outside of the "Untitled: Bristol Salt Lake" installation.

Updated to include a link to Steven's post.
