Those West Coast Liberals

For anyone who needs a reminder that The Golden State doesn't often live up to its liberal reputation, I offer this story from the Press-Enterprise in Riverside about a flier sent out by a local GOP group there depicting Obama as.... well, look for yourself.

The president of the Chaffey Community Republican Women, Diane Fedele, said she included the illustration in the latest issue of the group's newsletter because Obama has said he "doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

"It was strictly an attempt to point out the outrageousness of his statement. I really don't want to go into it any further," Fedele said. She then said she "doesn't think in racist terms." Really? Well putting aside for the moment the fact that the bill says "United States Food Stamps," what about the fried chicken and the watermelon? "It was just food to me. It didn't mean anything else."

This just days after the Sacramento GOP's Web site compared Barack Obama and Osama Bin Laden and suggested that Obama be waterboarded.

There are only a few weeks left in the election. The Republican nominee is way down in the polls. If you think you've seen the worst of the smears and attacks, I have a feeling you're wrong.

what, did she not have enough time to put a noose and a bag of cotton into the image?

It's so pathetic how these racist people pretend like they're innocently poking fun.

That's the McCain base for ya!

I admire her restraint, there's no malt liquor! Maybe that'll be on the $20 bill she works up next.

I like all of those things. Guess I'm a Democrat too.

That's what all that stuff was implying, right? That Obama's a Dem?
